Powder Coat Applicator (2nd shift)

Apply powder coatings to production components while maintaining specified film thickness, finish, color, and texture requirements.

Job Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a powder coat applicator

• Experience applying powder coatings in a production environment

• Knowledge of coating thickness measured in mils

• Experience using coating thickness inspection tools

• Experience applying multiple powder colors, types, and textures

• Knowledge of powder coating equipment and application methods

• Experience preparing parts and equipment for powder coating operations

Preferred Skills

• Experience adjusting powder flow, air pressure, voltage, and application settings

• Knowledge of curing temperatures and oven cycle requirements

• Experience inspecting coated parts for coverage, thickness, texture, and finish defects

• Experience with production spray booths, powder recovery systems, and curing ovens

• Knowledge of surface preparation and masking methods

• Experience documenting coating measurements and production results

Job Responsibilities

• Apply powder coatings to production parts according to specifications

• Set up and operate powder coating guns and related equipment

• Select and load required powder colors, types, and textures

• Adjust application settings to achieve required coating coverage and thickness

• Measure coating thickness using inspection tools

• Inspect finished parts for runs, thin spots, contamination, orange peel, and other coating defects

• Prepare, mask, hang, and unmask components for coating

• Monitor curing temperatures and oven cycles

• Perform color and powder changeovers

• Clean spray equipment, booths, hoses, and powder delivery systems

• Record coating thickness measurements, inspection results, and production data

• Rework coated parts that do not meet finish or thickness requirements

Pay: 22-27/hr

Pay Details: $22.00 to $27.00 per hour
