Programs, sets up, operates, and supports CNC milling equipment for custom and high-precision manufacturing work.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of CNC machining experience

  • Experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines

  • Proficiency with CAM software for CNC programming

  • Familiarity with Mazak, Milltronics, Okuma, or Haas equipment

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and sample parts

  • Knowledge of machining sequences, setup requirements, dimensions, and tolerances

  • Experience inspecting finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring equipment

  • Experience assisting machinists and operators with machine setup and operation

  • Ability to mentor and train less experienced machinists

  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to bend, kneel, and climb as required

  • Ability to use required personal protective equipment

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with multi-axis CNC machines

  • Experience with CAD/CAM software

  • Experience producing custom or high-precision parts in a job-shop environment

  • Experience operating manual machining or related manufacturing equipment

  • Experience with large horizontal boring mills

  • Knowledge of CNC tooling, fixtures, feeds, speeds, and workholding methods

  • Experience performing first-piece and in-process inspections

  • Experience troubleshooting machining, setup, tooling, and dimensional issues

Job Responsibilities

  • Program CNC milling machines using CAM software

  • Set up and operate CNC milling equipment

  • Support operators with machine setup, tooling, offsets, and production issues

  • Train and mentor machinists and CNC operators

  • Review drawings, specifications, and sample parts to determine machining requirements

  • Determine dimensions, tolerances, operation sequences, tooling, and setup methods

  • Select and install cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding equipment

  • Set and verify machine offsets and machining parameters

  • Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and related measuring equipment

  • Verify completed parts meet dimensional and tolerance requirements

  • Adjust CNC programs, tooling, and machine settings to correct production issues

  • Troubleshoot machine, tooling, setup, and dimensional problems

  • Document machining changes, inspection results, and production information

  • Support multi-axis machining and horizontal boring mill operations as required

  • Maintain CNC machines, tooling, fixtures, and work areas

  • Follow established machining, inspection, and safety procedures

  • Perform additional machining and shop duties as assigned

Pay: 35-42/hr

Pay Details: $35.00 to $42.00 per hour
