CNC Mill & Lathe Setup Machinist
Summary: Sets up and operates CNC lathes and milling machines to produce components according to engineering drawings and dimensional requirements.
Job Requirements
- Knowledge of machining principles and manufacturing processes
- Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes
- Experience setting up and operating CNC milling machines
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing symbols
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- Experience installing and adjusting tooling and fixtures
- Experience setting machine offsets
- Experience troubleshooting machining, tooling, and dimensional issues
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CNC machine programming or program adjustments
- Experience performing first-piece and in-process inspections
- Experience with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools
- Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining parameters
- Experience working with tight tolerances
- Experience documenting inspection and production results
Job Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathes and milling machines
- Install and adjust cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding equipment
- Set and verify machine offsets
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T requirements
- Measure completed parts using precision inspection equipment
- Verify part dimensions against engineering specifications
- Adjust machining parameters to maintain dimensional accuracy
- Identify and troubleshoot machine, tooling, and production issues
- Replace worn or damaged tooling as required
- Complete first-piece and in-process quality checks
- Document production quantities, measurements, and machining adjustments
- Maintain CNC machines, tooling, fixtures, and work areas
Pay Details: $17.00 to $25.00 per hour
