EHS Specialist
Supports regulatory compliance, hazard identification, risk reduction, environmental programs, safety training, and emergency preparedness activities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or active enrollment in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
- 0–2 years of environmental health and safety experience
- Basic knowledge of OSHA requirements
- Basic knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations
- Experience or coursework involving hazard identification and risk assessment
- Ability to perform root-cause analysis and track corrective actions
- Ability to prepare EHS documentation, reports, and training materials
- Knowledge of incident investigation, workplace inspections, and audit processes
Preferred Skills
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification
- Familiarity with Process Safety Management
- Familiarity with Job Hazard Analysis methods
- Knowledge of EPA compliance requirements
- Experience with environmental programs involving air, wastewater, waste management, groundwater, or stormwater
- Familiarity with SPCC, CERCLA, and community right-to-know requirements
- Experience supporting contractor safety programs
- Experience maintaining risk registers and corrective-action tracking systems
Job Responsibilities
- Support compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, state, local, and federal EHS regulations
- Conduct workplace hazard assessments and process risk evaluations
- Identify repetitive, operational, environmental, and process-related risks
- Assist with developing and maintaining the site risk register
- Perform root-cause analysis and support implementation of corrective actions
- Track corrective actions through completion
- Support EHS audits, regulatory inspections, workplace inspections, and incident investigations
- Prepare EHS records, reports, procedures, and compliance documentation
- Deliver training on risk awareness, Process Safety Management, and Job Hazard Analysis practices
- Support site safety campaigns and risk-reduction initiatives
- Recommend improvements to EHS processes and controls
- Support air, wastewater, waste-management, groundwater, and stormwater compliance programs
- Assist with SPCC, CERCLA, and community right-to-know compliance activities
- Coordinate emergency-response planning and preparedness documentation
- Support emergency drills and response-readiness activities
- Conduct post-incident analysis and document root causes
- Support contractor safety requirements and site-protocol compliance
Pay Details: $20.00 to $28.00 per hour
