Welder

Fabricates and welds metal components using MIG, TIG, or flux-core processes in accordance with blueprints, welding symbols, and quality requirements.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience with MIG, TIG, or flux-core welding
• Welding certification
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and welding symbols
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
• Experience operating hand tools, torches, and plasma-cutting equipment
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
• Ability to operate foot pedals and climb or balance as required
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to complete a 3–6 month on-the-job training period

Preferred Skills

• Vocational welding diploma
• 3 or more years of production welding experience
• Experience operating a track torch
• Experience cutting, shearing, and forming metal
• Experience inspecting welded assemblies against blueprint and quality requirements
• Commercial driver’s license

Job Responsibilities

• Operate welding equipment to join and fabricate metal components
• Perform MIG, TIG, and flux-core welding as required
• Read and follow blueprints, layouts, welding symbols, and GD&T requirements
• Visually inspect finished welds and assemblies for conformance to quality standards
• Verify completed products against blueprint specifications
• Cut, shear, and form material according to production requirements
• Operate plasma cutters, track torches, hand tools, and related fabrication equipment
• Follow established manufacturing processes and work instructions
• Identify and report weld defects or dimensional nonconformances
• Move materials and components using a forklift when authorized
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and assigned work areas
• Follow applicable welding, equipment, and manufacturing safety procedures

Pay Details: $19.00 to $26.00 per hour
