Prep and Paint Technician - 1st shift

Industrial blasting and painting role focused on metal surface preparation, masking, coating application, coating measurement, and material handling.

Requirements

• Ability to prepare metal surfaces using abrasive blasting equipment

• Ability to remove rust, scale, grease, and contaminants from metal surfaces

• Ability to mask and protect areas prior to blasting

• Ability to apply primer and paint coatings according to job specifications

• Ability to measure and document blast profile

• Ability to measure and document wet film thickness

• Ability to measure and document dry film thickness

• Ability to safely load, unload, and position parts

• Ability to operate cranes, forklifts, or rigging equipment

• Ability to stand for extended periods

• Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment

Preferred Skills

• Sandblasting experience

• Industrial painting experience

• Abrasive blasting experience

• Primer application experience

• Paint coating application experience

• Crane operation experience

• Forklift operation experience

• Rigging equipment experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare metal surfaces by removing rust, scale, grease, and contaminants

• Operate abrasive blasting equipment

• Mask and protect areas prior to blasting as required

• Apply primer coatings according to job specifications

• Apply paint coatings according to job specifications

• Measure blast profile

• Document blast profile measurements

• Measure wet film thickness

• Document wet film thickness measurements

• Measure dry film thickness

• Document dry film thickness measurements

• Load, unload, and position parts using cranes, forklifts, or rigging equipment

Pay: 18-24/hr

Pay Details: $18.00 to $24.00 per hour
