Requirements

  • English reading and writing skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend MSDS sheets

  • Ability to read and follow standard work instructions

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Experience using Microsoft Windows-based computer programs

  • Knowledge of carrier-supplied and internet-based shipping software

  • Experience operating material handling equipment, including manual pallet jacks, powered pallet jacks, hand trucks, forklifts, balers, and scales

  • Ability to enter data into an automated inventory control system

  • Ability to prepare domestic and export shipping paperwork

  • Ability to regularly exert up to 20 lbs. of force

  • Ability to occasionally exert up to 50 lbs. of force

  • Ability to bend at the waist

  • Ability to stand for sustained periods

  • Ability to move throughout the facility on foot

Responsibilities

  • Pick up material from cells and manufacturing locations throughout the plant

  • Process material for shipment

  • Package material and over-pack cartons as required

  • Label outgoing material with appropriate documents

  • Prepare skids and cartons for shipment

  • Pack, band, shrink wrap, crate, and apply cautionary labels to shipments

  • Prepare domestic and export paperwork and other shipment documents

  • Create bills of lading

  • Assign carrier pro numbers

  • Match and verify shipment contents during loading

  • Schedule pickups with local freight carriers

  • Receive incoming shipments

  • Deliver incoming shipments to appropriate destination locations

  • Prepare materials and required documents for goods needing additional operations

  • Expedite parts for cells

  • Provide updates for parts at outside operations

  • Match paperwork with cartons of incoming and outgoing material

  • Verify shipment and receipt contents

  • Count incoming parts to identify shortages

  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve discrepancies

  • Collect, store, and process scrap

  • Operate a cardboard baler

  • Load and unload indirect materials, outgoing parcels, skids, scrap, and recyclables

  • Enter inventory and shipment data into automated systems

  • Store and archive transaction documents

  • Conduct physical inventory of parts

  • Maintain storage areas in neat and orderly condition

  • Maintain work area according to 5S standards

  • Perform related duties as assigned

Pay: 19-22/hr

Pay Details: $19.00 to $22.00 per hour
