Metal fabrication role focused on brake press operation, blueprint interpretation, machine setup, and dimensional inspection.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and production schedules
  • Experience laying out and examining metal stock or work pieces
  • Experience operating fabricating machines, including brake presses, shears, and notchers
  • Ability to measure completed pieces using gauges, calipers, templates, and tape measures
  • Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, fractions, and tape measure use
  • Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift
  • Ability to bend, lift, and carry awkward-sized product up to 70 lbs throughout the day
  • Ability to push or pull product up to 100 lbs several times per shift

Preferred Skills

  • Hurco back gauge programming knowledge
  • Brake press setup experience
  • Sheet metal fabrication experience
  • Experience installing, aligning, and locking punches, dies, and fixtures

Responsibilities

  • Lay out and examine metal stock or work pieces to verify specifications
  • Review shop drawings, blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to determine materials, dimensions, and tolerances
  • Set up and operate brake presses, shears, and notchers
  • Shear, notch, and form metal components
  • Measure completed pieces against specifications
  • Install, align, and lock or flip punches, dies, and fixtures in brake press rams or beds
  • Verify fabricated components meet required dimensions and tolerances


Pay Details: $19.00 to $20.00 per hour
