MIG Welder
Welding manufacturing role focused on component layout, metal assembly, GMAW welding, cutting, and material handling.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Ability to pass an entry-level welding test
6 or more months of welding experience in a manufacturing setting
Experience reading blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
Experience using squares, calipers, and tape measures
Experience fastening seams and joints with welds, bolts, or metal drive clips
Experience using overhead cranes and forklifts
Experience drilling holes, tack-welding parts, and positioning components for welding or riveting
Experience using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
GMAW equipment experience
Plasma cutter experience
Oxyacetylene torch experience
Ability to stand or walk most of an 8–10 hour shift
Ability to bend and lift product, equipment, or tools up to 50 lbs regularly and 70 lbs occasionally
Ability to push or pull up to 200 lbs infrequently
Ability to use hand tools up to 20 lbs for extended periods
Preferred Skills
Manufacturing welding experience
Metal building component assembly experience
Flat or horizontal position welding experience
Material handling equipment experience
Responsibilities
Determine project requirements from blueprints, drawings, and instructions
Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines
Assemble building components by fastening seams and joints
Maneuver completed units into position for assembly using overhead cranes and forklifts
Drill holes for assembly and fastening requirements
Tack-weld parts for fit-up and assembly
Position, clamp, and jack pieces for welding or riveting
Weld components in flat or horizontal positions
Set up and operate GMAW equipment
Operate plasma cutters and oxyacetylene torches
Inspect work pieces for defects
Pay Details: $20.00 to $24.00 per hour
