Test Technician

Battery Test Technician responsible for electrical and mechanical testing, validation, troubleshooting, and documentation of battery cells, battery packs, chargers, and associated test equipment.

Job Requirements

• Associate degree in Electronics, two-year technical diploma, equivalent military certification, or equivalent technical experience.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, engineering, or laboratory testing.
• Experience using test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Ability to read engineering schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Experience assembling and disassembling electrical and mechanical components.
• Ability to build intermediate test harnesses.
• Experience maintaining laboratory test equipment.
• Ability to perform basic mechanical work.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and related Microsoft applications.
• Ability to work around high-voltage battery components following established safety procedures.
• Experience maintaining product, test, and process documentation.
• Ability to interpret and use product and component datasheets.

Preferred Skills

• 4+ years of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, engineering, or laboratory testing.
• Experience handling and testing lithium-ion batteries.
• Experience building wire harnesses.
• Experience with battery cells, battery packs, and battery chargers.
• Experience with design validation and verification testing.
• Experience performing failure analysis on electrical or mechanical assemblies.
• Experience developing prototype test documentation and test procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical testing on battery cells, battery packs, and battery chargers.
• Execute design validation and verification testing according to defined engineering requirements.
• Configure and operate laboratory test equipment.
• Troubleshoot defective test equipment and perform required maintenance.
• Build test harnesses for electrical testing activities.
• Assemble electrical and mechanical fixtures and test setups.
• Perform intermediate design activities for fixtures and testing configurations.
• Inspect and test components, assemblies, and prototype products.
• Perform failure analysis to determine causes of defective tests or assemblies.
• Document test results, maintenance activities, failures, and corrective actions.
• Create test documentation for prototype products when engineering instructions are unavailable.
• Support corrective actions related to process, test, or design issues.
• Maintain required product and testing records.
• Support laboratory organization and 5S activities.

Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
