Quality Engineer
Manufacturing Quality Engineer responsible for driving product quality, resolving component manufacturing issues, and implementing quality improvement initiatives within drivetrain production operations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience using quality management tools including FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, Control Plans, Gauge R&R, MSA, and Capability Studies.
- Experience reading and interpreting complex part drawings.
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience using advanced data collection and statistical analysis techniques.
- Experience driving closed-loop corrective action processes.
- Experience performing root cause analysis.
- Experience with gear or shaft manufacturing standards, processes, and controls.
- Experience developing, implementing, or updating manufacturing control plans.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with drivetrain component manufacturing.
- Shop floor experience in a component manufacturing environment.
- Experience with PFMEA, DPQ, Six Sigma, and structured quality improvement projects.
- Experience supporting Smart Factory or connected manufacturing initiatives.
- Experience with project management and cross-functional quality projects.
- Experience using Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, or Minitab.
- ASQ certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB), or Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB).
- Experience with customer warranty improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- Support production quality activities to ensure product requirements and performance standards are met.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives within assigned manufacturing areas.
- Lead customer warranty improvement projects.
- Drive resolution of drivetrain component manufacturing quality issues.
- Develop and execute quality improvement activities using PFMEA, QIT, DPQ, Six Sigma, and related methodologies.
- Apply structured problem-solving and statistical analysis to complex manufacturing issues.
- Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing control plans.
- Perform root cause investigations and drive corrective actions to closure.
- Analyze manufacturing and quality data to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Support Gauge R&R, MSA, SPC, and capability studies.
- Review part drawings and apply GD&T requirements to inspection and manufacturing processes.
- Lead cross-functional quality projects involving manufacturing, engineering, and production functions.
- Track quality performance and support improvement of component manufacturing processes.
- Support connected manufacturing and data-driven quality initiatives.
Pay Details: $30.00 to $36.00 per hour
