Hardware Systems Engineer responsible for integrating sensors and hardware onto unmanned aerial systems, supporting mechanical design, flight testing, validation, and engineering documentation.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 1+ year of CAD experience.
  • Experience with mechanical design.
  • Experience with hardware integration and systems engineering practices.
  • Experience with hardware testing and validation.
  • Experience designing and documenting wire harnesses.
  • Experience creating engineering drawings and bills of materials.
  • Experience with Pixhawk autopilots, including PX4 and ArduPilot.
  • Ability to obtain FAA Part 107 certification within three months of employment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with UAS or drone platforms.
  • Experience with MAVLink.
  • Experience with PTC Creo.
  • Experience with UAS instrumentation.
  • Experience performing flight testing.
  • Experience with hardware and software compatibility testing.
  • Experience supporting third-party post-processing software integrations.
  • Experience providing Level 2 engineering support.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical components for sensor and hardware integration.
  • Plan and execute sensor and hardware integrations for new UAS platforms.
  • Maintain and update existing UAS hardware integrations.
  • Develop integration schedules and support execution of integration activities.
  • Perform UAS flight testing.
  • Design, fabricate, and document wire harnesses.
  • Perform hardware product validation and testing.
  • Conduct hardware and software compatibility testing across sensors, UAS platforms, and third-party software.
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings and bills of materials.
  • Develop and maintain internal engineering and production documentation.
  • Develop and maintain user-facing technical documentation.
  • Provide Level 2 engineering support.
  • Support troubleshooting of sensor, hardware, software, and UAS integration issues.


Pay Details: $37.00 to $43.00 per hour
