Manufacturing Engineer – Machining
Develop and improve machining processes, production methods, equipment, tooling, layouts, and labor standards for component manufacturing operations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
- Manufacturing engineering experience in a component manufacturing environment
- Experience with turning, milling, and drilling operations
- Experience selecting and procuring capital equipment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Ability to apply algebra, geometry, and trigonometry to manufacturing processes
- Experience establishing manufacturing routings, methods, layouts, tooling, costs, quality plans, and labor standards
- Ability to work variable hours, off-shifts, overtime, and weekends as required
Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of turning, milling, drilling, and hard finishing of ferrous materials
- Experience with gear and shaft manufacturing processes
- Experience making shop-floor process adjustments to correct geometry and quality issues
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Experience with AutoCAD or related design software
- Experience planning and implementing machining cells
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or comparable data analysis tools
- Experience using SAP
- Experience programming machinery for gear and spline cutting processes
- Experience supporting projects involving tooling, gauges, fixtures, and production equipment
Job Responsibilities
- Recommend and implement cost reduction, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvements
- Lead capacity, productivity, and manufacturing efficiency studies
- Establish and revise manufacturing routings, methods, layouts, tools, and labor standards
- Develop manufacturing process documentation and quality plans
- Calculate production costs and process requirements
- Select and procure metal-removal machinery and related capital equipment
- Plan and implement machining cells
- Lead new-model production preparation activities
- Specify and procure tooling, gauges, fixtures, machines, and supporting equipment
- Develop production processes for turning, milling, drilling, and related machining operations
- Analyze manufacturing data and identify process improvement opportunities
- Resolve machining geometry, quality, tooling, and process-performance issues
- Support equipment installation, validation, production launch, and process qualification
- Update process documentation following equipment, tooling, or production changes
Pay Details: $35.00 to $41.00 per hour
