CNC Machinist role focused on setting up, operating, editing, and programming CNC and manual lathe and mill equipment for manufacturing production and custom project work.

Job Requirements

  • Associate degree or completion of an apprenticeship in Machine Technology, Tool and Die Technology, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Manual lathe and mill experience
  • CNC lathe and mill experience
  • Experience setting up and operating conventional machining equipment
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC machining equipment
  • Ability to edit and code G-code
  • Ability to edit and code M-code
  • Experience with conversational CNC programming
  • Ability to support daily production, scheduling, and machine setup activities
  • Ability to work with a variety of materials and components
  • Ability to pass required background checks

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with special machine setups for customer projects
  • Experience machining custom parts or low-volume production components
  • Experience reading machine manuals for machine-specific M-code functions
  • Experience working from drawings, specifications, or work instructions
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement activities in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience maintaining quality standards during machining operations

Job Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual lathes, manual mills, CNC lathes, and CNC mills
  • Edit and code CNC programs using G-code, M-code, and conversational programming
  • Use CNC programs to control machine movement, cutting paths, spindle functions, coolant, tool changes, and other machine operations
  • Support daily production requirements and machining schedules
  • Perform machine setups for standard production and special customer projects
  • Work with various materials and components to produce machined parts
  • Review machining instructions, programs, drawings, and specifications before production
  • Adjust machine settings, tooling, and programs as needed to meet part requirements
  • Inspect machined parts for accuracy, quality, and specification compliance
  • Troubleshoot machining, setup, tooling, and program issues during production
  • Support quality-focused production and continuous improvement activities


Pay Details: $24.00 to $29.00 per hour
