Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 or more years of CNC programming experience
  • Ability to read and interpret G-code and M-code
  • Ability to analyze engineering drawings, sketches, design data, and processing information
  • Experience determining cutter paths, cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates
  • Experience creating and maintaining CNC programs
  • Experience preparing tooling and machine setup documentation
  • Proficiency with CAD and CAM software
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints

Preferred Skills

  • Blueprint-reading training
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing training
  • Experience with Syteline or another manufacturing ERP system
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience supporting fixture design and manufacturing process engineering
  • Experience improving machining cycle times, changeover times, quality, and productivity
  • Knowledge of CNC tooling procurement and selection

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze drawings, sketches, design data, and processing information for CNC machining requirements
  • Determine cutter paths, cutting-tool selections, machine speeds, and feed rates
  • Create, maintain, manage, and improve CNC programs
  • Develop and maintain tooling setup sheets for CNC production equipment
  • Write tool-sheet instructions containing tool lists, fixturing requirements, and setup information
  • Use CAD and CAM software to develop machining programs and manufacturing documentation
  • Use Syteline and Microsoft Office applications to support production activities
  • Coordinate with tooling personnel to select and procure cutting tools
  • Work with CNC machinists to correct program errors and optimize machine performance
  • Coordinate with process engineering and fixture design personnel on machining processes and fixturing
  • Identify and implement improvements that reduce changeover time
  • Improve machining quality, safety, and productivity
  • Maintain product and process quality in accordance with quality assurance requirements
  • Follow applicable manufacturing and machine-safety procedures
  • Complete required safety and departmental training
  • Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives


Pay Details: $42.00 to $55.00 per hour
