Operates, programs, and maintains CNC and manual machine tools to produce precision metal components in accordance with engineering drawings and quality standards.

Job Requirements

  • Experience operating CNC or manual lathes, milling machines, or grinders
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing prints
  • Ability to read and understand G-code and M-code
  • Experience performing machine setups
  • Experience using precision measuring tools and gauges
  • Experience inspecting machined parts for dimensional accuracy
  • Ability to operate multiple machines or manufacturing processes as required
  • Ability to record direct and indirect labor time using production data collection software
  • Knowledge of machining safety procedures and quality requirements

Preferred Skills

  • Experience machining precision bearings or similar close-tolerance components
  • Experience creating, editing, and validating CNC programs
  • Experience training machinists or manufacturing technicians
  • Familiarity with quality assurance systems and nonconforming material procedures
  • Experience participating in continuous improvement projects
  • Experience with CNC turning, milling, and grinding operations

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC and manual lathes, milling machines, and grinders
  • Produce precision metal parts according to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Perform machine setups in accordance with work instructions
  • Read, review, and execute G-code and M-code programs
  • Create or edit CNC programs as required
  • Review machining programs for accuracy before production
  • Inspect parts during production using appropriate gauges and measuring equipment
  • Inspect completed components for dimensional accuracy and product quality
  • Identify and report nonconforming or defective materials
  • Operate multiple machines or support additional manufacturing functions as required
  • Record production, setup, direct labor, and indirect labor time in data collection systems
  • Train machinists and industrial manufacturing technicians
  • Maintain product and process quality in accordance with quality assurance standards
  • Follow all applicable machine safety requirements and procedures
  • Complete required safety, technical, and departmental training
  • Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives


Pay Details: $34.00 to $38.00 per hour
