Welder I
Production Welder 1 responsible for performing structural steel welding operations according to approved welding procedures, shop drawings, and quality requirements.
Job Requirements
- AWS D1.1 certification
- 1G, 2G, or 3G welding certification minimum
- Ability to complete in-house AISC Fundamentals Training, FD-01 through FD-15
- Ability to read tape measures
- Ability to read basic fabrication prints
- Ability to read and interpret basic fabrication drawings
- Ability to read and interpret weld symbols
- Experience operating welding equipment
- Experience operating hand tools
- Experience following Welding Procedure Specifications
Preferred Skills
- MIG welding experience
- FCAW welding experience
- SMAW welding experience
- Structural steel welding experience
- Fit-up verification experience
- Basic welding equipment setup experience
- Welding equipment maintenance experience
- Experience working from shop drawings
- Experience welding to production quality standards
Job Responsibilities
- Perform structural steel welding operations
- Perform MIG welding on structural steel components
- Perform FCAW welding on structural steel components
- Perform SMAW welding on structural steel components
- Read and interpret basic fabrication drawings
- Read and interpret weld symbols
- Follow approved Welding Procedure Specifications
- Complete fit-up verification before welding
- Perform basic welding equipment setup
- Perform basic welding equipment maintenance
- Produce welds according to quality requirements
- Maintain production throughput standards
- Follow safety requirements
- Follow PPE guidelines
- Maintain housekeeping standards in the welding work area
Pay Details: $21.00 to $24.00 per hour
