Test & Validation Engineering Technician

Performs advanced electrical testing, troubleshooting, validation, and fixture development for embedded motor controllers, electronic assemblies, and industrial control systems.

Job Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of electrical test, troubleshooting, or validation experience.
• Experience debugging PCB/PWB-based embedded electronic systems.
• Experience troubleshooting motor drives, motor controllers, or industrial control products.
• Advanced experience using electronic test and measurement equipment, including:
  • Oscilloscopes
  • Logic analyzers
  • Programmable DC power supplies
  • Electronic loads
  • Signal generators
  • Multimeters
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, PCB layouts, wiring diagrams, and test procedures.
• Experience diagnosing electrical, firmware, signal integrity, and hardware issues.
• Experience performing root-cause analysis on electronic systems.
• Experience conducting engineering validation and characterization testing.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of test engineering, electronics troubleshooting, or validation experience.
• Knowledge of brushless DC (BLDC) motor control theory.
• Experience designing and developing electrical test fixtures.
• Experience with automated test setups.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Experience with Altium.
• Experience with Visio.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Product development or R&D experience.
• Experience supporting verification, validation, and engineering qualification testing.

Job Responsibilities

• Debug and troubleshoot PCB/PWB-based embedded motor controllers.
• Diagnose electrical, firmware, signal integrity, and hardware failures.
• Troubleshoot panel-based controllers and automated test fixtures.
• Design, build, document, and maintain electrical test fixtures and test setups.
• Execute engineering validation, characterization, and qualification testing.
• Operate oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, programmable power supplies, electronic loads, signal generators, multimeters, and related laboratory equipment.
• Analyze test data and document engineering findings.
• Support new product development and design verification activities.
• Develop test methodologies, procedures, and validation approaches.
• Create detailed test reports, troubleshooting records, and technical documentation.
• Manage and maintain motor controller laboratory equipment and test assets.
• Verify proper operation of prototype electronic assemblies and systems.
• Support development and maintenance of automated test systems.
• Track testing activities through completion and document final results.

Pay Details: $33.00 to $45.00 per hour
