Site Superintendent

Construction Superintendent responsible for directing field operations, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining schedules, and ensuring safe, compliant construction within active laboratory and controlled facility environments.

Job Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Site Superintendent, General Superintendent, or similar field leadership role.
• Experience managing commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, or laboratory construction projects.
• Experience working in laboratory or highly controlled facility environments.
• Knowledge of OSHA construction safety requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors.
• Experience managing daily field operations, site logistics, and manpower requirements.
• Proficiency with construction documentation and scheduling tools.
• Experience coordinating inspections, testing, commissioning, and punch-list activities.
• Ability to meet applicable background or security screening requirements for restricted project sites.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with federal construction projects.
• Experience with GMP, GLP, BSL, cleanroom, pharmaceutical, biotech, or research laboratory environments.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety and contamination-control procedures.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• Experience with federal construction documentation and reporting requirements.
• Experience working under government contracts and specifications.
• Familiarity with USACE, NAVFAC, or similar federal construction standards.
• Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar construction management software.

Job Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise daily construction activities and field operations.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and onsite personnel.
• Maintain project schedules and track progress against established milestones.
• Coordinate construction activities around active laboratory and facility operations.
• Conduct daily site walks and monitor workmanship, productivity, and compliance.
• Interpret and enforce project plans, specifications, drawings, and contract requirements.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and punch-list activities.
• Maintain daily reports, logs, schedules, and field documentation.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering, architecture, safety, and facility personnel.
• Identify field conflicts and implement construction solutions.
• Monitor material deliveries, equipment, site logistics, and manpower requirements.
• Ensure work areas are secured, maintained, and prepared for subsequent trades.
• Support change-order development and field verification.
• Verify completed work meets project specifications and quality requirements.
• Enforce laboratory-specific safety protocols, site access requirements, PPE, contamination-control, and housekeeping procedures.
• Coordinate work involving dust, noise, vibration, odors, chemicals, biological materials, and other controlled-environment hazards.
• Implement infection-control, contamination-control, and environmental controls when required.
• Participate in Job Hazard Analyses, pre-task planning, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
• Coordinate shutdowns, utility interruptions, hot work, confined-space activities, and other disruptive work with facility personnel.
• Maintain controlled work areas appropriate for laboratory and regulated environments.

Pay Details: $100,000.00 to $130,000.00 per year
