Develop and support embedded Linux software, board support packages, device drivers, and hardware integration for advanced embedded systems.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced degree in a related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience may be considered.
  • In lieu of a degree, at least 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Active U.S. government Final Secret Security Clearance.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing embedded Linux device drivers.
  • Proficiency with embedded C and C++.
  • Experience with Bash and Python scripting.
  • Experience with board bring-up and target hardware integration.
  • Experience debugging hardware-software integration issues.
  • Experience using hardware schematics during root cause investigations.
  • Experience with debugging tools such as logic analyzers and Wireshark.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Git and SVN version control systems.
  • Experience creating custom Linux distributions with Buildroot.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and environments.
  • Experience with embedded Linux kernels, bootloaders, root filesystems, build toolchains, and BSP development.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deliver, and support embedded Linux software systems.
  • Develop and maintain embedded Linux Board Support Packages.
  • Develop and support Linux device drivers.
  • Support build toolchains, Linux kernels, root filesystems, and bootloaders.
  • Perform board bring-up and integrate software with target hardware.
  • Investigate and resolve complex hardware-software integration issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis using schematics, logic analyzers, Wireshark, and related debugging tools.
  • Participate in Agile planning and development activities.
  • Manage change requests and task assignments through Jira.
  • Follow applicable engineering development, quality, and software lifecycle processes.


Pay Details: $58.00 to $78.00 per hour
