Senior RF/Microwave Engineer responsible for RF architecture, microwave hardware design, simulation, integration, verification, and technical execution across communication and electronic warfare systems.

Job Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required.

  • Active Secret Clearance required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with 4+ years of relevant experience.

  • On-site availability to support laboratory testing and hardware development.

  • Experience with ADS and/or AWR Microwave Office.

  • Hands-on experience with RF laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, receivers, signal generators, amplifiers, antennas, and power meters.

  • Experience with RF/microwave design, analysis, modeling, simulation, integration, and verification.

  • Knowledge of electromagnetics, RF/microwave theory, and electronic warfare.

  • Experience designing RF products from UHF through E-band.

  • Experience with frequency synthesizers, up/down converters, front-end electronics, antenna tracking electronics, and complete RF systems.

  • Experience with RF architecture definition and system-level analysis.

  • Experience developing RF link budgets.

  • Knowledge of passive and active RF components including amplifiers, oscillators, attenuators, mixers, and filters.

  • Working knowledge of S-parameters, matching networks, cascade analysis, gain budgets, noise figure, linearity, and filtering.

  • Knowledge of noise temperature, Eb/No, BER, receiver sensitivity, temperature effects, impedance interfaces, and isolation requirements.

  • Knowledge of nonlinear RF effects including intermodulation, IP2, IP3, group delay variation, and dynamic range.

  • Understanding of power budgets and environmental design impacts.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with PathWave RF Synthesis/Genesys.

  • Experience with Siemens EDA/Mentor Graphics tools.

  • Experience supporting RF hardware from concept through qualification, production, and sustainment.

  • Experience with RF circuit card, module, and subsystem design.

  • Experience with communication-system RF architectures.

  • Experience with electronic warfare RF systems.

  • Familiarity with military and commercial SATCOM standards.

  • Experience developing RF technology roadmaps.

  • Experience optimizing RF hardware for cost, size, weight, and power.

  • Experience supporting proposal development, technical estimates, schedules, and risk assessments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop RF architectures and hardware designs for communication systems.

  • Translate system requirements into circuit card, module, subsystem, and system-level RF solutions.

  • Perform RF and analog circuit design, analysis, modeling, and simulation.

  • Develop and evaluate high-frequency and microwave hardware.

  • Support RF circuit card and subsystem development activities.

  • Conduct peer and formal design reviews.

  • Perform RF hardware integration and verification testing.

  • Develop link budgets and system-level RF performance analyses.

  • Evaluate gain, noise figure, linearity, filtering, matching, dynamic range, and related RF performance metrics.

  • Analyze nonlinear RF effects and develop applicable mitigation approaches.

  • Support laboratory testing using RF and microwave test equipment.

  • Develop technical approaches for new programs and proposal efforts.

  • Identify technical risks and develop RF architecture recommendations.

  • Develop technical estimates for engineering schedules and resource requirements.

  • Coordinate RF hardware development with systems, mechanical, software, and other engineering disciplines.

  • Support RF hardware through concept development, qualification, production, and sustainment.

  • Manage technical tasking, schedules, and priorities for assigned RF engineering activities.

  • Prepare and present technical designs, analyses, test results, and engineering recommendations.

  • Provide technical guidance and design review support for RF hardware development activities.

Pay: 49-66/hr

Pay Details: $49.00 to $66.00 per hour
