Board Support Package (BSP) Software Engineer (8578)
Develop and integrate Board Support Package software, embedded Linux configurations, boot code, drivers, and real-time platform software for military communication systems.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
Minimum of four years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, two years with a graduate degree, or eight years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
Embedded software development experience
Experience configuring and patching U-Boot
Experience configuring embedded Linux systems
Experience configuring root file systems
Experience developing or modifying Linux device trees
Knowledge of the embedded Linux boot process
BASH scripting experience
Experience developing software in C and C++
Experience working in cross-compiled embedded development environments
U.S. citizenship
Active Secret security clearance preferred; ability to maintain applicable clearance requirements
Ability to pass required background screening

Yocto experience
VxWorks experience
Linux driver development experience
Buildroot experience
Experience with JFFS2, UBI, and UBIFS file systems
BusyBox experience

Experience with Bitbucket or comparable source-control platforms
Experience documenting third-party and open-source software licenses
Experience supporting military or defense communication systems

Job Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Board Support Package software for embedded platforms
Configure and patch U-Boot for embedded systems
Configure and maintain embedded Linux operating systems
Develop and configure embedded root file systems
Create and modify Linux device trees
Support embedded Linux boot-process development and troubleshooting
Develop BASH scripts for embedded system configuration and automation
Design and implement embedded software using C and C++
Configure real-time operating systems and platform software
Develop and integrate Linux kernel components and device drivers
Support board bring-up and hardware/software integration
Debug embedded hardware and software using JTAG and related tools
Integrate drivers, boot code, interfaces, and platform-level software
Add features and modifications to existing embedded software designs
Develop operating system and BSP configurations for new hardware platforms
Maintain source code and revisions using applicable configuration management tools
Maintain documentation for third-party and open-source software components
Support software development from requirements through integration and production release
Pay: 56-75/hr

Pay Details: $56.00 to $75.00 per hour
