Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Minimum of two years of relevant embedded software engineering experience

  • Proficiency with object-oriented C++

  • Experience with embedded software design

  • Experience designing, coding, testing, and debugging real-time embedded systems

  • Experience maintaining software requirements, design documentation, and source code

  • U.S. citizenship

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

  • Ability to pass required background screening

Preferred Skills

  • Active DoD Secret clearance

  • Experience developing software for real-time operating systems

  • Experience troubleshooting software on embedded targets

  • Experience with software test frameworks

  • Experience with software configuration management tools

  • Experience with defect tracking systems

  • Experience with peer review processes

  • Exposure to signal processing

  • Exposure to control systems

  • Networking experience

  • Experience with hardware interfaces such as PCIe, MIL-STD-1553, RS-232, SPI, I2C, and FPGA interfaces

  • Experience with Linux, Unix, VxWorks, or Windows

  • Knowledge of IP, UDP, TCP, EtherCAT, CAN, or RTPS/DDS protocols

  • Experience with embedded device drivers

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded real-time software

  • Write and maintain object-oriented C++ code

  • Test, debug, and update developmental and fielded embedded systems

  • Maintain and review software requirements

  • Develop and maintain software design documentation

  • Maintain and review source code

  • Troubleshoot software on embedded hardware targets

  • Develop and execute software tests

  • Support software integration with hardware interfaces and peripherals

  • Develop or integrate drivers for embedded hardware

  • Support RTOS-based software development

  • Investigate and resolve embedded software defects

  • Maintain software configuration and revision records

  • Support peer reviews and software verification activities

  • Integrate embedded software with signal processing, controls, and networking functions

  • Support software across development, integration, test, and fielded-system lifecycle phases

Pay: 35-47/hr

Pay Details: $35.00 to $47.00 per hour
