Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Minimum of six years of relevant software engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree, or four years with a master’s degree

  • Advanced proficiency with object-oriented C++

  • Experience developing embedded real-time software

  • Experience with Linux and/or VxWorks environments

  • Experience with high-performance and multithreaded programming

  • Knowledge of programming languages, compilers, and application execution

  • Experience developing software for embedded devices from requirements through production

  • Experience leading significant software features, integrations, or subsystem-level technical activities

  • Experience troubleshooting software on embedded targets

  • Experience participating in requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and formal testing

  • U.S. citizenship

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance

  • Ability to pass required background screening

Preferred Skills

  • Active DoD Secret clearance

  • Department of Defense program experience

  • Experience with real-time operating systems

  • Experience with embedded systems architecture and design

  • Knowledge of signal processing

  • Knowledge of control systems

  • Networking experience

  • Knowledge of IP, UDP, TCP, and IPsec protocols

  • Experience developing software test plans and procedures

  • Experience with peer reviews and defect tracking

  • Experience developing software across Windows, Linux, and embedded RTOS platforms

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded system software for communication platforms

  • Develop and maintain object-oriented C++ applications

  • Lead significant software features and subsystem integrations

  • Translate system and software requirements into implemented functionality

  • Support requirements analysis, software design, implementation, integration, and formal testing

  • Develop software interfaces between hardware and software components

  • Support definition of operational performance and system interface requirements

  • Develop and maintain software test plans, procedures, and technical documentation

  • Perform software troubleshooting on embedded targets

  • Diagnose and resolve complex software integration and runtime issues

  • Develop high-performance and multithreaded software

  • Support software running on Linux, VxWorks, Windows, and related embedded platforms

  • Participate in peer reviews and technical design reviews

  • Identify, track, and resolve software defects

  • Provide technical direction for software features or subsystems

  • Coordinate technical execution with systems engineering, software engineering, and program teams

  • Support networking and communication protocol integration

  • Support software bids and technical proposal inputs for customer and government requests

  • Maintain software throughout development, production, and field-support lifecycle phases

Pay: 40-60/hr

Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
