Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering

  • At least 7 years of medical device engineering experience

  • Experience with Class II or Class III medical devices

  • Experience designing electrical hardware and electronic assemblies

  • Experience developing and executing hardware test protocols

  • Experience performing board-level testing and troubleshooting

  • Knowledge of IEC 60601-1 electrical safety requirements

  • Knowledge of IEC 60601-1-2 electromagnetic compatibility requirements

  • Experience using Altium Designer or comparable electronic design automation software

  • Experience supporting sustaining engineering activities

  • Experience creating, reviewing, and maintaining bills of materials

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with schematic capture and printed circuit board design

  • Experience supporting medical device verification and validation activities

  • Experience troubleshooting analog, digital, power, and embedded electronic circuits

  • Knowledge of medical device design controls and risk-management processes

  • Experience supporting component obsolescence and alternate-part qualification

  • Experience preparing technical documentation for regulated product changes

  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and electronic component suppliers

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and modify electrical hardware for Class II and Class III medical devices

  • Develop schematics, circuit designs, and board-level hardware solutions

  • Create and maintain electrical design files using Altium Designer or similar software

  • Develop and execute hardware verification and test procedures

  • Perform board-level testing, debugging, and failure analysis

  • Verify compliance with IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 requirements

  • Support electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility testing

  • Analyze test results and document design performance

  • Investigate field, manufacturing, and product-quality issues involving electrical hardware

  • Implement sustaining engineering changes for released medical devices

  • Support component replacements, obsolescence management, and alternate-part qualification

  • Create, review, and maintain bills of materials

  • Prepare engineering change documentation, test reports, and design records

  • Support design verification, validation, and regulatory documentation activities

  • Coordinate electrical design changes with quality, manufacturing, regulatory, and supplier functions

Pay: 65-78

Pay Details: $65.00 to $78.00 per hour
