Job Requirements

  • Extensive experience creating and reviewing First Article Inspection reports
  • Aerospace FAI or inspection experience
  • Experience performing First Article Inspections and Delta FAIs in accordance with AS9102
  • Experience performing first-piece, in-process, and final inspections
  • Ability to review job instructions, inspection plans, and quality documentation
  • Knowledge of WHMA and IPC specifications
  • Experience creating ballooned drawings for FAI completion
  • Ability to use and maintain gauges, inspection tools, and measuring equipment
  • Experience completing inspection records and quality documentation
  • Ability to apply inspection stamps and maintain traceable quality records
  • Experience reviewing FAIs for completeness and accuracy
  • Ability to explain FAI documentation and results to customers

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
  • Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and related measuring equipment
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards and inspection requirements
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Experience preparing inspection reports
  • Knowledge of quality Core Tools
  • Certified Quality Inspector credential
  • Experience inspecting electrical assemblies, wiring, or cable products to IPC and WHMA standards
  • Experience supporting customer or regulatory quality audits

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections according to job instructions and inspection plans
  • Create First Article Inspection reports in accordance with AS9102 requirements
  • Complete Delta FAIs for product, process, or drawing changes
  • Review FAI packages for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
  • Create ballooned engineering drawings for FAI documentation
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T requirements
  • Inspect components and assemblies using gauges and precision measuring equipment
  • Verify product dimensions, characteristics, materials, and process requirements
  • Use micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and other inspection tools
  • Maintain and verify inspection equipment condition
  • Complete quality forms, inspection records, and supporting documentation
  • Apply inspection stamps to approved quality paperwork
  • Identify and document nonconforming products or incomplete FAI records
  • Coordinate correction of FAI documentation and inspection discrepancies
  • Provide FAI status updates to manufacturing, engineering, quality, and management personnel
  • Meet with customers onsite or remotely to review and explain FAI packages
  • Maintain inspection workstations according to 5S requirements
  • Follow environmental, health, safety, and quality procedures


Pay Details: $18.00 to $26.00 per hour
