Job Requirements

  • 1–3 years of manufacturing experience

  • Experience supervising production employees or work groups

  • Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing operations

  • Experience monitoring safety, quality, cost, output, and schedule performance

  • Experience evaluating employee performance and completing related documentation

  • Experience managing labor, materials, workflow, and production priorities

  • Knowledge of standard work, plant rules, and payroll compliance

  • Experience leading daily production and problem-solving activities

  • Experience developing and monitoring departmental budgets

  • Experience tracking manufacturing performance metrics

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, manufacturing, engineering, operations, or a related field

  • Lean manufacturing experience

  • Six Sigma experience

  • Experience working in a union manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements

  • Experience with 5S implementation

  • Experience tracking units per labor hour, TAKT attainment, quality, availability, and cost metrics

  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives

  • Experience supporting training and workforce development activities

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily production-shift activities

  • Manage the performance of assigned production work groups

  • Monitor safety, quality, cost, output, and schedule performance

  • Assign labor and production resources based on operational requirements

  • Evaluate employee performance and complete required reports

  • Identify employee training and development requirements

  • Recommend compensation and performance actions according to established procedures

  • Monitor material usage and verify adequate parts are available to maintain production flow

  • Identify waste, process inefficiencies, and production constraints

  • Develop and implement corrective and process-improvement plans

  • Lead daily problem-solving activities related to production performance

  • Support plant objectives for safety, 5S, quality, customer availability, labor efficiency, TAKT attainment, and cost

  • Develop departmental budgets and monitor spending against plan

  • Enforce standard work, plant policies, safety requirements, and operating procedures

  • Administer applicable collective bargaining agreement requirements

  • Verify payroll and timekeeping compliance

  • Coordinate production activities with Operations, Quality, Human Resources, Finance, Materials, Engineering, and Continuous Improvement

  • Communicate plant initiatives, performance expectations, and operational changes to production employees

  • Provide production updates, risks, and recommended actions to plant leadership

  • Document production issues, corrective actions, staffing needs, and performance results

Pay: 30-34/hr

Pay Details: $30.00 to $34.00 per hour
