Industrial Quality Control Manager

Summary: Leads quality control programs for large-scale industrial power generation and EPC construction projects.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field

• Equivalent construction quality experience may be considered in place of a degree

• Minimum of 10 years of quality assurance or quality control experience in the construction industry

• Experience supporting simple-cycle or combined-cycle power generation projects

• Experience with combustion turbine or reciprocating-engine power generation systems

• Experience with large capital EPC construction projects

• Knowledge of ASME, NBIC, AISC, AWS, API, and related construction codes and standards

• Knowledge of nondestructive examination methods, including magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, and radiographic testing

• Experience reviewing construction drawings, technical specifications, reports, and quality documentation

• Experience performing quality audits, site inspections, and work-in-place reviews

• Proficiency with construction management software and Bluebeam

• Ability to travel up to 100% based on project assignments

• Ability to accept full-time jobsite assignments lasting approximately 12–18 months

Preferred Skills

• 15 or more years of construction quality, engineering, or construction management experience

• OSHA 10-hour certification

• OSHA 30-hour certification

• AWS, CWB, API, ACI, ICBO, ASNT, NACE, or comparable quality certification

• Experience managing quality control on utility-scale industrial power generation projects

• Experience with pressure vessels, piping, structural steel, welding, coatings, concrete, and mechanical equipment

• Experience auditing vendor and subcontractor quality programs

• Experience observing functional performance testing and equipment commissioning

• Experience developing project-specific inspection and test plans

• Experience managing quality programs for projects valued at $500 million or more

Job Responsibilities

• Lead project quality control activities for industrial construction projects

• Develop and maintain project quality plans, inspection procedures, and documentation requirements

• Facilitate drawing, specification, and construction-document page-turn reviews

• Verify implementation of quality assurance and quality control requirements by project teams

• Review subcontractor and vendor quality control programs

• Conduct subcontractor, supplier, vendor, and internal quality audits

• Review construction drawings, technical specifications, reports, submittals, and quality records

• Develop quality requirements that comply with contract documents, client specifications, and applicable codes

• Perform site inspections and investigations to verify installed work

• Audit completed and in-progress construction activities

• Observe functional performance testing, inspections, and commissioning activities

• Verify compliance with ASME, NBIC, AISC, AWS, API, and related standards

• Review welding, structural, mechanical, piping, equipment, and fabrication quality documentation

• Review nondestructive examination procedures and test results

• Track deficiencies, nonconformance reports, corrective actions, and closeout documentation

• Establish audit schedules and inspection priorities based on project risk

• Identify recurring quality issues and recommend corrective or preventive actions

• Maintain quality metrics, inspection reports, audit findings, and project records

• Provide technical guidance regarding construction quality requirements

• Develop and deliver quality training for project employees, contractors, and subcontractors

• Coordinate quality activities with construction, engineering, commissioning, vendors, and subcontractors

• Support project turnover, system completion, acceptance, and closeout activities

• Transition to additional project assignments following completion of current project work

Pay: 130k-170k/year

Pay Details: $130,000.00 to $170,000.00 per year
