Purchasing Specialist
Tracks direct-ship orders, updates shipment data in Oracle, and coordinates with suppliers to support accurate and timely order closure.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience
- Associate degree, high school diploma, or equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience in materials coordination, materials planning, purchasing, order management, or a related role
- Experience communicating with suppliers, customers, or cross-functional teams
- Experience tracking orders and shipment status
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience performing data analysis and maintaining order records
- Experience using Microsoft Word
- Experience entering and updating data in business systems
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Oracle
- Experience with ERP systems
- Experience managing direct-ship orders
- Experience with supplier shipment tracking
- Familiarity with purchasing, materials planning, and inventory processes
- Experience preparing order status reports and resolving shipment discrepancies
Job Responsibilities
- Track direct-ship orders from release through completion
- Contact suppliers to obtain shipment status and delivery information
- Access supplier shipping records and supporting documentation
- Enter shipment details into Oracle
- Update order records with tracking numbers, ship dates, quantities, and delivery information
- Review order data for completeness and accuracy
- Close completed direct-ship orders in the applicable system
- Identify missing, incorrect, or delayed shipment information
- Follow up with suppliers regarding open orders and shipment discrepancies
- Analyze order and shipment data using Microsoft Excel
- Prepare and maintain order status reports
- Coordinate with purchasing, materials planning, customer service, and related departments
- Maintain accurate supplier, order, and shipment documentation
Pay Details: $23.00 to $27.00 per hour
