Develops, commissions, and troubleshoots Siemens PLC control systems for automated powertrain manufacturing equipment.

Job Requirements

  • Expert-level Siemens PLC programming experience
  • Ability to develop PLC programs from scratch
  • Experience programming, commissioning, and debugging automated manufacturing equipment
  • Experience supporting machine build and testing activities
  • Ability to work onsite at manufacturing and customer facilities
  • Availability to work extended schedules, including 6–7 days per week, during commissioning periods
  • Ability to travel between project locations in southeastern Michigan

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with SiFACS powertrain control standards
  • Automotive powertrain manufacturing experience
  • Experience with Siemens TIA Portal or STEP 7
  • Experience with HMI programming and integration
  • Experience with industrial networks, motion controls, safety PLCs, and automated equipment
  • Experience supporting machine runoff, installation, launch, and production commissioning

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop Siemens PLC programs for automated manufacturing equipment
  • Create control logic from project specifications and machine requirements
  • Program and integrate PLCs, HMIs, safety systems, and associated controls
  • Test and debug control systems during machine build activities
  • Perform machine runoff and verify system operation before installation
  • Support equipment installation and commissioning at customer facilities
  • Troubleshoot PLC logic, electrical controls, communications, and equipment issues
  • Modify control programs based on commissioning and production requirements
  • Support automotive powertrain equipment using SiFACS standards when applicable
  • Document program revisions, system configurations, and commissioning results
  • Provide onsite controls support through equipment launch and production stabilization


Pay Details: $32.00 to $43.00 per hour
