Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience

  • Graduate degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience

  • 10 years of relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree

  • Active TS/SCI or SCI-eligible security clearance with CI Polygraph

  • Active Security+ certification

  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting IPSec and IKEv1/IKEv2

  • Experience administering Cisco Firepower Management Center

  • Experience administering Cisco Identity Services Engine

  • Experience implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides on network devices

  • Familiarity with Nessus and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution tools

  • Experience with Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, and Integrated Services Router product lines

  • Experience with Cisco Firepower and Firepower Threat Defense firewalls

  • Experience configuring and hardening routers, switches, firewalls, and communications hardware

  • Knowledge of the OSI model, packet structure, routing, switching, and network security

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience creating network diagrams and technical documentation using Visio Professional

Preferred Skills

  • CCNP or equivalent vendor certification

  • Experience with Wireshark and protocol analysis

  • Knowledge of Quality of Service architecture

  • Experience planning, implementing, verifying, and troubleshooting local- and wide-area enterprise networks

  • Experience troubleshooting multicast, Layer 2, Cisco IOS, and HSRP

  • Experience with BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, and EIGRP

  • Experience troubleshooting Ethernet, optical, and TDM physical-layer issues

  • Experience with classified and unclassified cloud connectivity, including AWS or government-hosted environments

  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Type 1 encryption devices, including KG-family encryptors

  • Familiarity with optical transport networking or other nonstandard communications platforms

  • Experience with Agile development processes

  • Experience supporting proof-of-concept evaluations and service trials

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and model secure network architectures

  • Evaluate network feasibility, capacity, performance, and scalability

  • Translate system and customer requirements into network designs

  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot secure communications using IPSec and IKEv1/IKEv2

  • Administer Cisco Firepower Management Center and Cisco Identity Services Engine environments

  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco Firepower and Firepower Threat Defense firewalls

  • Deploy and support Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, and Integrated Services Router platforms

  • Implement and validate STIG compliance across network devices

  • Review vulnerability scans and support remediation using Nessus and ACAS

  • Configure and harden routers, switches, firewalls, encryptors, and communications equipment

  • Develop network engineering solutions that satisfy system-level requirements

  • Analyze switching, routing, transmission, signaling, and capacity requirements

  • Troubleshoot complex routing, switching, multicast, firewall, physical-layer, and encryption issues

  • Configure and support classified and unclassified cloud and government-facility connectivity

  • Configure and troubleshoot Type 1 encryption for data-in-transit protection

  • Create and maintain network, protocol, Quality of Service, and system-level design documentation

  • Develop network diagrams, layouts, and configuration records using Visio Professional

  • Evaluate new hardware and software using technical manuals and engineering documentation

  • Conduct proof-of-concept testing, system integration, and service trials

  • Document test results, integration findings, technical issues, and resolutions

  • Participate in cross-program and cross-technology engineering initiatives

  • Identify network optimization and cost-reduction opportunities

Pay: 40-60/hr

Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
