Technical Writer
Authors and maintains regulated medical device instructions for use using structured XML authoring, content management systems, and quality-controlled publishing workflows.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
5 or more years of technical writing experience
Experience developing instructions for use for medical devices or other regulated products
Experience with structured XML or HTML content
Proficiency with Adobe FrameMaker or Structured FrameMaker
Experience with Oxygen XML Editor or a comparable structured-authoring platform
Experience managing technical content through a content management system
Knowledge of quality-system documentation and publishing processes
Experience performing documentation change-effect analysis
Experience with requirements traceability
Experience supporting translation and localization workflows
Availability to work onsite 3–4 days per week
Preferred Skills
Experience with Vasont Content Management System
Experience with Adobe Illustrator
Experience with Adobe InDesign
Experience with Adobe Photoshop
Familiarity with DITA or DITA-like structured-authoring standards
Experience with electronic instructions for use
Experience in the medical device industry
Experience in another FDA-regulated or quality-controlled industry
Familiarity with software documentation packaging, testing, and release processes
Job Responsibilities
Author and revise medical device instructions for use and electronic instructions for use
Create and maintain documentation using structured XML authoring tools
Manage reusable content, document versions, and publication records within a content management system
Process documentation through quality-system review, approval, and publishing workflows
Perform change-effect analysis for instruction and labeling updates
Maintain traceability between product requirements, documentation changes, and released content
Support translation and localization review processes
Review translated documentation for formatting, content integrity, and publication readiness
Coordinate documentation updates with research and development, regulatory, quality, and software teams
Prepare technical documentation for regulated product releases
Support document packaging, testing, approval, and release activities
Maintain controlled documentation in accordance with applicable regulatory and quality requirements
Track documentation deliverables and revisions throughout the product development lifecycle
Pay: 31-42/hr

Pay Details: $31.00 to $42.00 per hour
