Lead Quality Engineer position focused on quality systems, defect prevention, APQP, PPAP, root cause analysis, supplier quality, audits, and continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality engineering, supplier quality, or related technical roles
  • Experience working within a regulated quality management system environment
  • Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements, and internal procedures
  • Experience supporting audits, assessments, corrective actions, and quality system compliance
  • Experience with quality planning, risk mitigation, customer support, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience using advanced quality methodologies to prevent defects and improve process performance
  • Experience leading investigations related to customer complaints, escapes, returns, and non-conformances

Preferred Skills

  • Aerospace manufacturing experience
  • AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 experience
  • APQP and PPAP deployment experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification
  • Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification
  • Experience using program management tools
  • Experience with advanced problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, and Pareto Analysis
  • Experience with SPC, mistake-proofing, variation reduction, control plans, PFMEAs, inspection methods, validation activities, and launch readiness

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive product and process quality performance across assigned value streams, products, customers, or suppliers
  • Deploy quality management system requirements, business system tools, and advanced quality methodologies
  • Support defect prevention, customer satisfaction improvement, cost of non-conformance reduction, and operational excellence
  • Provide technical guidance to Quality Engineers and cross-functional teams
  • Lead quality planning, risk mitigation, problem-solving, customer support, and continuous improvement activities
  • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, industry, and internal quality standards
  • Support audits, assessments, and corrective action activities
  • Deploy APQP methodologies and support PPAP submissions and approvals
  • Establish and maintain control plans, PFMEAs, inspection methods, validation activities, and launch readiness requirements
  • Support manufacturing process capability improvements through SPC, mistake-proofing, and variation reduction initiatives
  • Lead investigations of customer complaints, escapes, and returns
  • Drive containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions
  • Facilitate structured problem-solving activities using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, Pareto Analysis, and related tools
  • Partner with Supplier Quality and Supply Chain teams to improve supplier performance
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for quality systems, quality tools, and customer requirements


Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
