Lead Manufacturing Engineer
Manufacturing Engineering technical leadership role focused on process development, project execution, tooling design, and manufacturing process improvement.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a technical role supporting manufacturing processes or a related engineering function
- Experience supporting manufacturing engineering processes, equipment, tooling, and documentation
- Experience preparing or reviewing cost estimates, capital appropriation requests, project schedules, design specifications, process specifications, and equipment specifications
- Experience with manufacturing data collection, analysis, and process improvement
- Proficiency with AIAG or equivalent tools for Measurement System Analysis, Capability Analysis, SPC, and FMEA
- Experience creating and maintaining PFMEAs, routers, equipment PMs, technique sheets, and equipment programs
- Experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, fabrication, assembly, measuring, and product testing
- Limited travel may be required, up to 20%
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in aerospace process development
- Experience with Continuous Improvement and Lean tools
- Hose, tube, fitting, and coupling manufacturing engineering experience
- Experience with new program development or project transition activities
- 3D modeling and tooling design or development experience
- CATIA solid modeling experience
- Product Data Management system experience for document control and workflow management
- ENOVIA experience
- Knowledge of fluid conveyance products, manufacturing techniques, and material science
- Knowledge of standard manufacturing processes, metal forming, assembly, and testing in an aerospace environment
- Experience with documented invention disclosures or patent-related technical documentation
Job Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership to manufacturing engineering staff
- Lead multiple large-scale plant and division projects with global teams
- Facilitate 8D problem solving, investigate and troubleshoot issues, and present conclusions to internal and external customers
- Prepare and present technical reports and conclusions to leadership team members
- Create, review, and update process and technical work instructions for manufacturing engineering functions
- Design, develop, implement, and improve safe and environmentally responsible manufacturing processes
- Apply environmental, safety, health, and industry standard manufacturing practices
- Design processes that ensure components and assemblies meet quality specifications, including aerospace and special process requirements
- Improve process efficiency using Lean Six Sigma tools
- Support on-time delivery through manufacturing process excellence
- Troubleshoot machine and tooling problems
- Support the DMR process for review and disposition of non-conforming materials
- Implement continuous flow concepts
- Train production employees on manufacturing processes
- Design equipment, gauging, and tooling using CATIA solid modeling software and other engineering analysis and design tools
- Work with suppliers and purchasing teams to procure equipment, tooling, and supplies
- Support manual assembly, semi-automatic equipment, and pressure testing equipment requirements
- Mentor manufacturing engineering staff in engineering competencies, processes, and lean concepts
- Work directly with manufacturing operators to troubleshoot and improve fabrication, assembly, measuring, and testing processes
- Manage manufacturing and process improvement project activities, budgets, project management requirements, and implementation documentation
- Support launch projects through structured launch processes
Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
