IT Help Desk Technician role focused on Windows 11 migration, endpoint deployment, desktop support, troubleshooting, and migration documentation.

Job Requirements

  • Associate degree required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience with Windows operating system deployments
  • Experience supporting Windows 10 to Windows 11 migrations preferred
  • Experience in help desk or desktop support environments
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Azure AD
  • Experience with endpoint deployment tools such as SCCM, Intune, or MDT
  • Experience with system imaging and patching processes
  • Basic networking and troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and extended hours during deployment phases
  • Ability to support approximately 130 endpoint upgrades
  • Ability to work onsite or remotely as required by migration activities

Preferred Skills

  • Experience performing in-place Windows upgrades and clean installations
  • Experience configuring BIOS or UEFI settings
  • Experience validating TPM and Secure Boot compliance
  • Experience joining machines to Active Directory or Azure AD
  • Experience installing enterprise applications, drivers, and endpoint security software
  • Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Jira
  • Experience supporting VPN, printer, login, profile, and permissions issues
  • Experience with change management processes
  • Experience re-imaging or rolling back systems after failed migrations

Job Responsibilities

  • Support a Windows 11 migration project for desktop and laptop endpoints
  • Perform in-place upgrades and clean installations of Windows 11
  • Image systems using enterprise deployment tools such as SCCM, Intune, or MDT
  • Configure BIOS and UEFI settings for deployment readiness
  • Validate TPM, Secure Boot, hardware, storage, and CPU compatibility
  • Join machines to Active Directory or Azure AD as needed
  • Install standard applications, drivers, updates, patches, and security software
  • Back up user files and settings before migration
  • Validate network connectivity and user access credentials before deployment
  • Coordinate device readiness with internal teams and end users
  • Verify post-migration functionality, including login, applications, printers, VPN, profiles, data, permissions, and endpoint security controls
  • Diagnose and resolve migration failures, upgrade errors, and Windows 11 transition issues
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers when needed
  • Re-image or roll back systems when migrations are unsuccessful
  • Track migrated, pending, and failed systems
  • Document deployment steps, issues, resolutions, and migration status
  • Update ticketing systems with completion details and support activity
  • Provide status updates on migration progress, failures, and pending device batches
  • Follow rollout timelines and change management processes


Pay Details: $20.00 to $27.00 per hour
