Android Software Engineer responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining BLE-intensive native Android applications in a regulated software environment.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

  • 5+ years of Android application development experience

  • Minimum 1 year of Kotlin development experience

  • Experience developing Android applications using Kotlin and/or Java

  • Experience with agile software development, including Kanban

  • Continuous integration experience

  • Git experience

  • Pull request and merge request workflow experience

  • Experience with DevOps services such as GitLab or GitHub

  • Experience writing unit tests for Android applications

  • Experience producing testable code

  • Experience working in a regulated software environment

Preferred Skills

  • Continuous integration experience for Android applications

  • Jetpack Compose experience

  • Coroutines or RxJava experience

  • Retrofit experience

  • React Native or Flutter experience

  • Espresso or Appium automated UI testing experience

  • iOS mobile application exposure using Swift

  • JavaScript, HTML, and CSS knowledge

  • Medical industry software development experience

  • Security tools and security product experience

  • BLE mobile application development experience

  • Automated integration and functional testing experience

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop a BLE-intensive native mobile application for Android using Kotlin and/or Java

  • Participate in code reviews and design reviews

  • Produce highly testable Android application code

  • Write automated unit, integration, and functional tests

  • Provide architectural feedback during design reviews

  • Review code with development peers

  • Follow regulated software development procedures

  • Support patient safety requirements within application development

  • Use Git, pull request workflows, and DevOps tools for source control and delivery

  • Support continuous integration processes for Android development

  • Analyze development workflows and contribute to process improvements

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, quality, and product teams as required

Pay: 56-75/hr

Pay Details: $56.00 to $75.00 per hour
