Summary: Mid-to-senior level electrical engineering role focused on leading design and implementation of complex power and control systems for robotic and electromechanical applications.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related field with an electrical concentration; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 7 years of practical electrical engineering experience in concept development, analysis, simulation, design, drafting, assembly, integration, troubleshooting, and testing of complex electrical, electromechanical, automated, or robotic systems.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Experience leading electrical and control system design efforts for systems or subsystems of moderate complexity.
  • Ability to create and interpret detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, cable drawings, and system block diagrams.
  • Experience calculating and estimating system power and energy requirements.
  • Experience with DC power system design.
  • Experience with wiring, cabling, grounding, electrical noise reduction, and EMI mitigation.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience integrating Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) components and designing required interfaces.
  • Experience selecting and sizing signal conditioning hardware, power supplies, control devices, switching devices, SSRs, safety devices, terminal blocks, connectors, DIN rail components, wiring, and cabling.
  • Experience with embedded microprocessor and single-board computer control systems, including sensors, actuators, signals, and I/O selection.
  • Experience designing and integrating communications interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, SPI, I2C, and CAN in high-noise environments.
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, communications analyzers, insulation testers, spectrum analyzers, CTDR, OTDR, and optical power meters.
  • Proficiency with engineering software such as Altium Designer, SPICE, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical, MathCAD, and MATLAB.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead development of significant portions of electrical and control system designs for individual projects.
  • Translate incomplete high-level requirements into electrical design solutions for systems or subsystems of moderate complexity.
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor small teams of senior and junior electrical engineers when needed.
  • Prepare for and participate in design reviews.
  • Work with mechanical, software, systems, and related engineering disciplines to develop integrated system solutions.
  • Support assembly, integration, troubleshooting, and testing of electrical and electromechanical systems.
  • Supervise or mentor junior engineers or technicians when necessary.
  • Produce engineering documentation and design deliverables.


Pay Details: $46.00 to $62.00 per hour
