Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent technical experience
  • Minimum 3 years of professional mechanical engineering experience
  • SolidWorks proficiency
  • AutoCAD proficiency
  • Independent design and 3D modeling experience
  • Aerospace mechanisms or safety restraint hardware experience
  • ANSI Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing experience
  • Experience interpreting technical specifications and integrating requirements into mechanical designs
  • Machining process knowledge
  • Injection molding process knowledge
  • Sheet metal fabrication knowledge
  • Structural analysis experience
  • Product safety and structural reliability review experience
  • Drawing package and bill of materials management experience

Responsibilities

  • Generate mechanical designs based on internal and external specifications
  • Serve as technical liaison for customer inquiries and design requirements
  • Develop preliminary concepts for new initiatives
  • Prepare cost estimates for new initiatives
  • Select and apply relevant industrial and governmental standards to manufacturing processes
  • Provide fabrication and assembly oversight for quality and performance requirements
  • Report timeline and budget impacts to leadership
  • Review products for safety and structural reliability
  • Manage drawing packages and bills of materials according to ANSI Y14.5 standards
  • Validate designs through structural analysis
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and purchasing teams to support producible hardware
  • Identify design, manufacturing, quality, and performance issues during development
  • Support FAA airworthiness certification for aerospace hardware


Pay Details: $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
