Mechanical Designer

Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for designing, modifying, and documenting automated manufacturing machinery and subsystems, including conveyors, pick-and-place equipment, and automated assembly stations.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience designing automated manufacturing machinery and equipment.

• Experience designing automation systems such as conveyors, pick-and-place machines, and automated assembly stations.

• Recent hands-on experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

• Experience with mechanical design and integration of automated machinery subsystems.

• Knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment design and system functionality.

• Experience modifying existing machine designs and preparing final engineering documentation.

• Background in automated machinery design rather than automotive vehicle design or assembly.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience designing automated assembly stations for automotive manufacturing applications.

• Experience designing assembly stations for General Motors (GM).

• Knowledge of automated production lines and industrial equipment integration.

• Experience supporting on-site equipment installation and commissioning.

• Familiarity with mechanical design documentation, engineering drawings, and equipment modifications.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and modify automated manufacturing machinery and mechanical subsystems.

• Develop and update mechanical designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

• Prepare, review, and finalize engineering drawings and technical documentation.

• Modify and integrate subsystems within existing automated machinery.

• Support the design and improvement of conveyors, pick-and-place systems, and automated assembly equipment.

• Perform engineering updates and revisions to existing machine designs.

• Ensure mechanical designs meet equipment specifications and functional requirements.

• Support final documentation and design release processes for automated machinery.

• Provide on-site technical support during equipment installation and integration as needed.

Pay Details: $29.00 to $39.00 per hour
