Manufacturing Tooling Engineer

Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for designing production tooling and automated equipment, managing project execution, and ensuring mechanical systems meet manufacturing, quality, safety, schedule, and cost requirements.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate degree or equivalent work experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturing.
• Experience with machine tools.
• Experience with precision tooling.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Microsoft Project.
• Experience with SharePoint document management.
• Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and applicable local engineering and machine safety standards.
• Experience developing mechanical designs for manual, semi-automatic, or fully automated production equipment.
• Experience creating and maintaining project specifications, schedules, and technical documentation.

• Experience with automation machine design.
• Experience with high-speed assembly equipment.
• Experience with machine control systems.
• 3–5 years of project management experience.
• Experience with supplier evaluation and quotation review.
• Experience with project budgeting and cost control.

Job Responsibilities

• Design mechanical elements for manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated production tooling and equipment using SolidWorks.
• Develop mechanical designs that support high-volume manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Incorporate product quality and process reliability requirements into equipment and tooling designs.
• Support project qualification and validation activities.
• Review project costing, margin requirements, and technical scope with engineering teams.
• Develop measurable technical and project requirements based on established engineering standards.
• Create, maintain, and update detailed project schedules.
• Track project progress, milestones, deliverables, and schedule status.
• Develop and maintain project specifications.
• Evaluate suppliers, quotations, and technical proposals.
• Monitor and control project budgets and equipment costs.
• Ensure equipment and tooling designs comply with OSHA, ANSI, and applicable local standards.
• Review machine, equipment, tooling, controls, and systems design status throughout project execution.
• Review project specifications, deliverables, and requirements with engineering teams.
• Document project changes using formal change notifications and revision records.
• Track and resolve technical issues affecting project timing, scope, or cost.
• Develop contingency and recovery plans for project schedule or scope issues.
• Monitor fabrication schedules and costs through project completion.
• Support delivery of equipment and tooling within approved technical, schedule, and budget requirements.

Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
