Controls Engineer IV responsible for designing, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting advanced automation systems while leading controls engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of controls engineering or industrial automation experience

  • Degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent professional experience

  • Expert-level experience with industrial automation platforms and logic controllers

  • Expert-level experience selecting, developing, and implementing machine vision systems

  • Expert-level experience with multiple industrial robot platforms

  • Experience designing machine control system architecture

  • Experience developing electrical schematics and industrial network diagrams

  • Experience programming PLC/PAC-based automation systems

  • Experience integrating PLC/PAC controls architecture with MES systems

  • Experience implementing industrial data collection systems

  • Experience estimating programming, commissioning, and debugging labor requirements for automation projects

  • Controls engineering project management experience

  • Ability to travel to customer sites for equipment installation, commissioning, runoff, acceptance, and training

Preferred Skills

  • Robotics experience

  • Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) experience

  • Experience developing reusable programming standards and code templates

  • Experience supporting automation project quoting and estimating

Job Responsibilities

  • Design control system architecture for automated machinery and equipment

  • Develop and maintain programming standards and reusable code templates

  • Program PLC/PAC systems and related automation equipment

  • Specify, program, and implement industrial data collection systems

  • Integrate machine controls with MES platforms

  • Select, develop, and implement machine vision systems

  • Program and integrate multiple industrial robot platforms

  • Lead controls engineering activities for large and small automation projects

  • Manage controls engineering projects from concept through final commissioning

  • Develop project concepts, technical estimates, and controls-related quotations

  • Provide programming, commissioning, and debugging support throughout project execution

  • Troubleshoot automation, controls, robotics, vision, and communication systems

  • Provide technical direction to controls engineers and technicians

  • Provide controls-related input during mechanical and electrical design activities

  • Support equipment runoff and machine acceptance activities

  • Commission and debug equipment on the manufacturing floor

  • Travel with equipment for customer-site installation, commissioning, acceptance, and training

Pay:40-60/hr

Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
