Maintenance Technician Supervisor / Controls Lead responsible for supervising maintenance operations, developing automated control systems, and supporting machine commissioning, troubleshooting, and upgrades within a manufacturing environment.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Technical education or certification as a Machinist, Journeyman Toolmaker, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience working as a technician on automated machinery in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting automated production equipment and control systems
  • Experience with PLC programming
  • Experience with HMI and/or SCADA platforms
  • Experience with motion controllers and servo drives
  • Experience with electrical, pneumatic, thermal, and motion control systems
  • Experience reading, creating, or revising electrical schematics
  • Experience with machine startup, debugging, tuning, and qualification
  • Knowledge of NFPA 79
  • Knowledge of UL508A
  • Knowledge of ISO 13849-1 or related machine safety standards
  • Correctable vision of 20/40 required
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. from floor to waist
  • Full functional use of all digits required
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for periods exceeding 90 minutes

Preferred Skills

  • Journeyman Toolmaker certification
  • Machinist certification
  • Experience supervising maintenance technicians across multiple shifts
  • Experience with connector manufacturing or high-volume automated manufacturing
  • Experience developing controls architecture for custom automated machinery
  • Experience with machine safety systems
  • Experience developing standardized PLC, HMI, and controls software templates
  • Experience with automation upgrades and continuous improvement projects
  • Experience supporting machine qualification and production release

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as Maintenance Technician Supervisor and lead technician across manufacturing shifts and processes
  • Supervise maintenance and technical support activities for automated production equipment
  • Lead development of control systems for automated machinery
  • Manage controls development from functional requirements and system architecture through programming, power-up, and commissioning
  • Define and document control system functional requirements
  • Specify electrical, pneumatic, thermal, servo, and motion control components
  • Oversee development and revision of electrical schematics
  • Develop and maintain PLC software
  • Develop and maintain HMI and SCADA applications
  • Program motion controllers and servo drive systems
  • Perform machine startup, debugging, tuning, and qualification
  • Troubleshoot production machinery, automation equipment, and control systems
  • Implement controls software changes for equipment upgrades, process improvements, and safety initiatives
  • Coordinate technical resources and controls-related project activities
  • Develop and maintain controls software standards, templates, and documentation
  • Support integration of mechanical, process, and controls systems
  • Ensure automation systems comply with applicable electrical and machine safety standards
  • Support long-term reliability and performance of automated manufacturing equipment


Pay Details: $55,000.00 to $71,000.00 per year
