Prepare accurate fabrication-ready drawings, 3D models, technical documentation, and material lists based on customer-supplied specifications and preliminary designs.

Job Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Drafting/Design or equivalent work experience.
  • Working knowledge of fabrication and welding processes.
  • Proficiency with CAD software.
  • Experience creating detailed engineering and fabrication drawings.
  • Knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra.
  • Familiarity with welding symbols, drawing symbols, dimensioning, and steel fabrication practices.
  • Experience developing 3D models and 2D drawings.
  • Experience preparing CNC burn files and material lists.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Experience with SolidWorks.
  • Experience with Creo.
  • Experience with ProNest.
  • Experience with CutLogic.
  • Experience with Global Shop ERP.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing tolerances.
  • Familiarity with metallurgy.

Job Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed engineering drawings and fabrication-ready designs.
  • Develop design specifications, technical documentation, and material lists.
  • Convert preliminary sketches and customer-supplied information into production-ready drawings.
  • Verify drawings for compliance with specifications, codes, and applicable regulations.
  • Create 3D models, 2D drawings, CNC burn files, and fabrication documentation.
  • Apply fabrication and material requirements to engineering drawings and designs.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for required materials.
  • Identify and resolve design or fabrication issues.
  • Maintain drawing revisions and technical documentation.


Pay Details: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour
