Lead Technician
Leads vehicle troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, testing, technician training, and shop-floor technical support for mechanical and electrical systems.
Job Requirements
- Advanced experience diagnosing and repairing vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience troubleshooting complex equipment, component, and system issues.
- Experience performing maintenance, repair, and component replacement activities.
- Experience conducting functional testing and analyzing test results.
- Experience documenting maintenance, repairs, equipment performance, and technical issues.
- Experience applying preventive maintenance practices to reduce equipment downtime.
- Knowledge of shop safety procedures, risk assessments, and applicable safety requirements.
- Experience leading or providing technical direction to technicians.
- Experience assigning or coordinating daily technical work activities.
- Experience training technicians on equipment operation, maintenance, and repair procedures.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with military, specialty, heavy-duty, or commercial vehicle systems.
- Experience troubleshooting integrated mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
- Experience supporting shop-floor workflow and resource planning.
- Experience with quality control inspections and testing procedures.
- Experience analyzing maintenance data and recommending process improvements.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience developing preventive maintenance or troubleshooting procedures.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical resource for vehicle troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and system optimization.
- Lead diagnosis of complex mechanical and electrical vehicle issues.
- Perform repairs and replace faulty components and assemblies.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance measures to minimize equipment downtime.
- Conduct testing to verify component and system functionality after maintenance or repair.
- Analyze test results and identify equipment or process issues.
- Implement applicable quality control measures during maintenance and repair activities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and technical findings.
- Prepare reports regarding equipment performance, recurring failures, and repair activity.
- Recommend maintenance and process improvements based on technical data and shop-floor findings.
- Train and onboard new technicians.
- Provide technical guidance and maintenance procedure instruction to technicians.
- Assign or support assignment of daily work priorities.
- Monitor shop workflow and technician workload.
- Support technician scheduling and resource planning.
- Support continuous improvement activities related to maintenance, repair, and shop operations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement required safety measures.
- Ensure maintenance and repair activities comply with applicable safety procedures and regulations.
Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
