Leads preprocessing, welding, and assembly operations in a low-volume/high-mix manufacturing environment with responsibility for production performance, continuous improvement, and operational execution.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Technical Business Administration, or a related technical field.

  • 3–5+ years of experience in a production leadership role within a comparable manufacturing environment.

  • Experience managing production teams in welding and assembly operations.

  • Required experience in low-volume/high-mix manufacturing.

  • Experience managing production through team leaders or front-line supervisors.

  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Experience with OEE, 5S, FMEA, KPIs, and continuous improvement tools.

  • Experience evaluating production output, quality, safety, and delivery performance using operational metrics.

  • Experience with production planning and workforce allocation.

  • Experience implementing efficiency and quality improvements in a factory environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Completed leadership or manufacturing management training.

  • Experience scaling or implementing production lines.

  • Experience supporting new product introductions.

  • Experience leading Lean or operational excellence initiatives.

  • Experience with preprocessing, fabrication, welding, and assembly operations.

  • Experience coordinating manufacturing projects with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Sales functions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage team leaders across preprocessing, welding, and assembly departments.

  • Oversee production performance, staffing, workflow, and daily manufacturing execution.

  • Monitor safety, quality, output, productivity, and delivery metrics.

  • Identify and resolve production bottlenecks affecting throughput or schedule performance.

  • Develop and implement personnel and production plans based on operational requirements.

  • Lead rollout and sustainment of 5S and Lean manufacturing practices.

  • Analyze OEE, KPIs, FMEA outputs, and other production data to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Implement process improvements focused on efficiency, quality, throughput, and production flow.

  • Translate operational strategy into measurable shop-floor objectives.

  • Report production performance and improvement progress to operations leadership.

  • Lead or support production line expansions, equipment changes, and new product introductions.

  • Coordinate production initiatives with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Technical Service, and Sales functions.

  • Support development and qualification of production team leaders and operators on manufacturing processes and improvement methods.

Pay: 40-48/hr

Pay Details: $40.00 to $48.00 per hour
