Fiber Optic Assembly Technicians
Performs fiber optic assembly, preparation, splicing, termination, inspection, and testing for advanced optical products and prototype builds.
Job Requirements
2+ years of experience in fiber optic assembly, cable assembly, or optical handling.
Hands-on experience with fiber ribbonization, stripping, cleaving, and fusion splicing.
Experience working with bare optical fibers and high-density fiber assemblies.
Ability to handle delicate optical fibers during assembly and inspection processes.
Experience using optical microscopes and inspection equipment.
Experience using precision hand tools for fiber optic assembly.
Knowledge of fiber preparation, connector termination, and optical assembly processes.
Preferred Skills
Experience with mass fusion splicers, including Sumitomo, Fujikura, AFL, or similar equipment.
Experience with MPO or other multi-fiber connector platforms.
Knowledge of single-mode fiber.
Experience with ribbon fiber and specialty optical fibers.
Experience supporting prototype builds or R&D environments.
Experience performing insertion loss testing.
Experience performing ferrule end-face inspection.
Knowledge of optical assembly best practices.
Job Responsibilities
Prepare optical fibers for assembly, termination, and splicing.
Perform fiber ribbonization, stripping, cleaving, and fusion splicing.
Perform mass fusion splicing using applicable fiber optic equipment.
Assemble high-density and multi-fiber optical products.
Terminate fiber optic connectors and related components.
Inspect fibers, connectors, ferrules, and completed optical assemblies using microscopes and inspection equipment.
Perform insertion loss and applicable optical testing.
Handle and process bare optical fibers according to established assembly procedures.
Support prototype and development builds.
Verify completed assemblies meet applicable specifications and workmanship requirements.
Maintain fiber optic assembly tools and equipment used for production and prototype activities.
Pay: 30-34/hr

Pay Details: $30.00 to $34.00 per hour
