Sets up, programs, operates, and maintains CNC mills and lathes to produce precision-machined components, weldments, and tooling within specified tolerances.

Job Requirements

  • Three or more years of CNC machining experience

  • Experience setting up and operating CNC vertical mills, horizontal mills, bridge mills, or CNC lathes

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing requirements

  • Experience machining weldments and precision components

  • Ability to plan machining sequences, tooling requirements, and workholding setups

  • Knowledge of shop mathematics, cutting speeds, feed rates, and tooling selection

  • Ability to load CNC programs and modify offsets and program code

  • Experience using micrometers, calipers, gauges, coordinate measuring machines, and other precision inspection equipment

  • Ability to consistently machine parts to tight dimensional tolerances

  • Experience performing and documenting in-process inspections

  • Knowledge of machine maintenance and preventive upkeep procedures

Preferred Skills

  • Technical certificate, associate degree, or formal training in Machine Tool Technology

  • Experience with Fanuc controls

  • Experience operating CNC lathes with live tooling

  • Experience with Mastercam

  • Manual CNC programming experience

  • Experience programming CNC equipment from machine controls or desktop software

  • Experience operating manual machining centers and machine shop equipment

Job Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC vertical mills, horizontal mills, bridge mills, and CNC lathes

  • Program simple machining operations and modify existing CNC programs

  • Load programs and adjust tool, work, and geometry offsets

  • Select and install tooling, fixtures, jigs, and workholding equipment

  • Determine machining sequences for components, weldments, and tooling

  • Diagnose and resolve machining, setup, tooling, and dimensional problems

  • Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and GD&T specifications

  • Machine parts to required dimensions, surface finishes, and tolerances

  • Measure and inspect parts using precision measuring equipment

  • Perform and document first-piece and in-process inspections

  • Verify completed parts meet drawing and quality requirements

  • Operate manual machining centers and shop equipment when required

  • Maintain CNC machines, tooling, fixtures, and work areas

  • Follow documented work instructions and machining procedures

  • Record production, inspection, and quality information

  • Meet established production and quality requirements

Pay: 25-42/hr

Pay Details: $25.00 to $42.00 per hour
