Senior Umbilical Engineer
Provides engineering support for the design, delivery, testing, installation, and technical coordination of subsea umbilical systems.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Subsea, Marine, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline
- Experience with subsea umbilical systems, subsea production system developments, or offshore oil and gas projects
- Knowledge of API, ISO, and DNV subsea standards
- Understanding of subsea controls, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and umbilical design principles
- Experience reviewing engineering specifications, drawings, calculations, and technical submissions
- Experience coordinating with EPC contractors, umbilical manufacturers, subsea equipment suppliers, and offshore installation teams
- Valid Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training certification
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting subsea projects through engineering, manufacturing, testing, loadout, installation, and commissioning phases
- Experience with subsea production system layouts and control architectures
- Experience supporting factory acceptance testing and extended factory acceptance testing
- Experience managing technical deviations, engineering queries, and design changes
- Experience monitoring contractor schedules, technical deliverables, and project risks
- Familiarity with umbilical manufacturing, termination, testing, storage, transportation, and offshore installation requirements
Job Responsibilities
- Provide technical support throughout the subsea umbilical system delivery lifecycle
- Review umbilical contractor engineering documents, specifications, drawings, calculations, and technical submissions
- Verify compliance with project requirements and applicable API, ISO, and DNV standards
- Coordinate technical interfaces between umbilical suppliers, subsea production system contractors, EPC contractors, and installation contractors
- Review subsea development layouts, controls requirements, hydraulic requirements, electrical requirements, and operational data
- Participate in technical clarification meetings, design reviews, and project progress reviews
- Evaluate engineering queries, technical deviations, and proposed design changes
- Support change-management activities and maintain alignment with approved project requirements
- Attend and support factory acceptance testing, extended factory acceptance testing, pre-loadout testing, and post-loadout testing
- Review test procedures, test results, inspection records, and contractor documentation
- Monitor contractor engineering and manufacturing progress
- Identify technical risks, interface conflicts, and delivery issues
- Prepare technical updates and project reports
- Verify that technical inputs, interface data, and contractor deliverables support project schedule and quality requirements
Pay Details: $40.00 to $54.00 per hour
