Maintenance Technician

Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains plastic extrusion lines, auxiliary equipment, and industrial electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience

• Manufacturing equipment repair experience required

• Experience maintaining plastic extrusion lines or comparable production machinery

• Electrical troubleshooting experience

• Experience working with low-voltage and 480-volt three-phase electrical systems

• Experience troubleshooting motor and heater circuits

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams

• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems

• Experience diagnosing PLC components and electrical circuits using multimeters and diagnostic tools

• Experience performing preventive maintenance and responding to production equipment breakdowns

• Ability to understand safety requirements, standard operating procedures, and work instructions

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

• Ability to work around elevated platforms

• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility

Preferred Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Experience maintaining dryers, crystallizers, extruders, and winders

• Experience with plastic extrusion manufacturing equipment

• Experience performing root cause analysis on equipment failures

• Experience using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools

• Welding and metal fabrication experience

• Experience using plasma cutters, torches, grinders, and related shop equipment

• Experience fabricating machine guards, mezzanines, brackets, and replacement parts

• Experience maintaining computerized or written equipment service records

Job Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on plastic extrusion lines and auxiliary equipment

• Respond to production-floor equipment breakdowns

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical failures

• Troubleshoot low-voltage and 480-volt three-phase motor and heater circuits

• Use schematics and wiring diagrams to identify equipment faults

• Diagnose electrical circuits, PLC components, sensors, and control devices

• Use multimeters and related diagnostic tools during troubleshooting

• Repair and replace defective components on dryers, crystallizers, extruders, and winders

• Remove and install equipment components using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools

• Identify root causes of machinery failures and implement corrective repairs

• Minimize equipment downtime and restore production machinery to service

• Record equipment issues, repairs completed, and parts used or required

• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and equipment service records

• Fabricate repair parts, machine guards, platforms, and equipment supports

• Operate welders, plasma cutters, torches, grinders, and other fabrication equipment

• Inspect and maintain maintenance tools in working condition

• Return tools and equipment to assigned storage locations

• Follow plant safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and maintenance work instructions

• Support additional industrial equipment and facility maintenance activities as assigned

Pay: 24-32/hr

Pay Details: $24.00 to $32.00 per hour
