NX Programmer – 2nd Shift
Second-shift CNC programming role focused on CAM programming, large-format machine support, Vericut verification, Renishaw probing, process development, and shop floor troubleshooting.
Requirements
- 4+ years of CNC programming experience using a graphical CAM system
- Experience generating and maintaining CNC programs
- Experience supporting CNC programming, process development, and shop floor operations
- Experience with multi-axis milling, turning, grinding, or EDM programming
- Experience creating CNC programs using machining standards and qualified machining parameters
- Experience supporting tooling and fixturing requirements for CNC machine tools
- Experience troubleshooting CNC programs on the shop floor
- Experience creating or supporting workstation instructions for CNC-related issues
- Ability to support 2nd shift operations
- Ability to interpret drawing requirements
- Shop math skills, including geometry and trigonometry
Preferred Skills
- Siemens NX CAM experience
- 5-axis CNC programming experience using CAM software
- Vericut experience
- CNC verification or machine simulation software experience
- Renishaw probing routine experience
- On-machine probing experience
- Error trapping experience
- Sub-routine or macro programming experience
- Variable-based programming experience
- Closed-loop machining experience
- Hands-on machinist background
- Experience setting up and proving out complex first-piece programs
- Experience with large VTL equipment up to 2.5m
- Experience with large VBM equipment up to 2.5m
- Experience with large head-head gantry 5-axis equipment
- Experience with large vertical multi-purpose turn/grind equipment
- Experience managing tight tolerances on large-format equipment
- Experience accounting for part deflection, work hardening, and thermal stability
- Experience machining nickel-based superalloys, including Inconel, Rene, or Hastelloy
- Heavy duty gas turbine industry experience
- Aerospace machining experience
- Fanuc control experience
- Haas control experience
- Okuma control experience
- Siemens control experience
Responsibilities
- Program, develop processes, and provide shop support for large-format CNC equipment
- Generate and maintain CNC programs using NX CAM or other CAM software
- Create programs for multi-axis milling, turning, grinding, or EDM operations
- Verify new CNC programs using Vericut before shop floor release
- Incorporate on-machine probing using Renishaw cycles for part and process validation
- Build error trapping into probing and machining routines
- Create CNC programs according to standards and qualified machining parameters
- Provide CNC support to manufacturing engineering
- Provide operator training during new machine startup, rebuilt machine startup, and process improvements
- Provide daily CNC programming support to shop floor operators
- Troubleshoot CNC programming and machining issues on the shop floor
- Support tooling requirements for CNC machine tools
- Support fixturing requirements for CNC machine tools
- Generate workstation instructions for CNC-related issues
- Support workstation methods for CNC-related issues
- Initiate process improvement projects related to safety, quality, cost, and delivery
- Lead CNC process improvement projects
- Support multiple CNC projects concurrently
Pay Details: $50.00 to $60.00 per hour
